Welcome to the Biodiversity section of Enniskerry.ie
The following are the priorities for community action in the Enniskerry Community Biodiversity Action Plan
- 🦇Bat surveys, especially at St. Mary’s & St. Gerard’s church to see whether bats are roosting there.
- 🌿Engage children with nature in coordination with our schools, Knocksink Wood Nature Reserve SAC team and Enniskerry Tidy Towns.
- 🪺Liaise with interested home and shop owners to put swift boxes to suitable locations in the village.
- 🦉Liaise with interested landowners and the Wicklow Barn Owl project for erecting barn owl boxes.
- 🪴Tackle invasive species that don’t need specialised treatment. We need volunteers for this!
- 💦Misconnection surveys to improve water quality. Learn all about misconnections here: https://www.dublincity.ie/residential/environment/protection-water-bodies/water-pollution-control/misconnection-programme.
- 👋🏽Involve the whole community by liaising with schools, support, sport and hobby groups, residents groups, business groups and parish groups.
