National Volunteering Week, proudly supported by Garnier, is the one week of the year when we encourage everyone in Ireland to give volunteering a try. NVW is also an opportunity to shine a light on the inspiring work of volunteers and highlight the value and impact of volunteering to Irish society.

Here are few ways that your organisation can get involved and make the most of NVW 2013:

Host a once off project during National Volunteering Week 2013:

We would be delighted to work with you on planning a once off event during NVW.  It is a great way to highlight what you do in your local community and get some valuable work done. If you have any ideas, however big or small, talk to Yvonne or Fiona.

Register a new or an ongoing volunteering opportunity on I-VOL, the national database of Irish Volunteering opportunities and Listings at www.volunteer.ie   Hundreds of volunteers will visit the site in the lead up to National Volunteering Week. Now is the time to create an inspiring advert and recruit volunteers for your organisation.

Publicise existing volunteering opportunities with your organisation:

Do you have existing or on-going volunteer roles within  your organisation? Make sure you have registered them at www.volunteerwicklow.ie or chat to Yvonne or Fiona at your local volunteer centre.

Help us highlight the Impact and Value of Volunteering:

Post a message of appreciation for your volunteers on your organisations website.

Tweet your thanks to volunteers on Twitter with the hashtag #NVOLW13, share photos from a volunteering project on Volunteer Irelands Facebook page or email us at info@volunteerwicklow.ie
