Building on the Enniskerry Village Enhancement study completed in 2013, Enniskerry Forum has been working for the past 12 months to bring together the bodies and funding required to move from the planning stage to implementation. 

The next phase of this community-led long-term development strategy for Enniskerry kicks off shortly following the appointment of international consultants WS Atkins by Wicklow County Council in association with the National Transport Authority (NTA). Enniskerry Forum would like to particularly thank Stephen Donnelly TD whose input has been instrumental in securing the involvement, support and funding of the NTA.

The purpose of the study is to develop designs for the Village that will make it easier and safer for
pedestrians and cyclists to move around Enniskerry and to stop and enjoy the beautiful environs of
the Village.

Views are being sought from everybody who has an interest in the Village so that all opinions can be considered in the development of designs. Issues that you may want to consider are the following:

– Where is it difficult for pedestrians to walk along footpaths and cross the road?
– Where could space be improved for visitors to visit local businesses and enjoy the Village environs?
– What difficulties are encountered by cyclists, when cycling and parking?
– What changes could be made to bus and car parking that would improve the Village?
– What improvements could be made to accessing Powerscourt House & Gardens?

There are two opportunities to voice your opinions:

1) Open Day on Wednesday October 1st 2014 at Enniskerry Parochial Hall from 1.00pm to 7.00pm.
