Ms Gail Marsh, on behalf of her mother Naomi Marsh, would like your help to locate Mr Rupert Mitchell who used to run the Dargle River Caravan Park in the 1960s and afterwards. “I am trying to trace an old friend of my mothers from the mid 60s, I believe, Mr Rupert Mitchell, possibly Rupert A Mitchell, who would now be in his late seventies or early eighties, I think. His mother was Dorothy Mitchell.

I should be very grateful if anyone who has lived in Enniskerry Village since the 50s and 60s perhaps to the present day might be able  to recall and know the whereabouts, if in fact he is still alive or living in Ireland, of  Mr Rupert  Mitchell and his mother Mrs. Mitchell.

They  used to run and, I think, own Dargle River Caravan Park by Enniskerry in the late 50s/ 60s which was a beautifully landscaped caravan park, so clearly there was an interest in landscaping too,  and someone mentioned back in the 90s that they thought he moved into the Dublin or Wicklow mountains and  had a business regarding caravan parts. I would love to find out if this gentleman, who was English I think, is still alive and to put him in contact with my mother who is keen to  make contact with  old friends. Her name is Naomi Marsh and she had red hair then.  She is now in her early seventies and thought he was a little older, possibly. I do so hope he is still with us even if moved and if anyone knows anything of his life or whereabouts.

Some folk there may also remember my mother who is still going strong and  always talks of Enniskerry so fondly.  She visited there  many years ago in the 90s, but not since, I think, possibly 2006. I lived there too as a tolder and have photos of my uncle George Marsh fishing in the Dargle River and photos of the Caravan Park. Sadly my uncle George Marsh died in 2002 as did his sister Rosemary Marsh, my mother’s only brother and sister. ”
