Launch of Knockree Nature Conservation Management Plan – Friday 10.30am
An Óige Knockree Conservation Volunteers Group are launching the Knockree Nature Conservation Management Plan this Friday (10th March) at Knockree hostel at 10.30am. The minister for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Mr Andrew Doyle T.D., will be doing the honors of officially launching the plan for us. There will be a short introduction to the plan followed by a word from the minister and a ceremonial tree planting in the grounds of the hostel.
Friday falls within National Tree Week so we are also celebrating that. The extension of the native woodland on the site is one of the key aims of the plan. Light refreshmentts will also be available at the hostel.
Local community groups and individuals who are interested in nature conservation are welcome to become involved in the project. Anybody who would like to attend the launch at 10.30am this Friday, 10th March, is welcome.
