Important Community Initiative for Enniskerry
Enniskerry Forum has been in discussions with the National Transport Authority (NTA) for some time, and particularly over the last 6 months, in an effort to address concerns raised by the community in relation to the roads and related infrastructure around the village. These discussions have built upon work carried out for the 2013 Village Enhancement Report (available here).
The purpose of the more recent discussions has been to identify areas where NTA could support initiatives in Enniskerry and, more importantly, provide funding. The areas where support is possible are access, signage, parking, cycling, walking, etc.
As a result, the NTA has agreed to fund a major study to determine what is feasible. The output from this study will be used to support a major funding application. This is a very significant step forward for Enniskerry and creates significant opportunity for all our community.
The study will commence within the next 3 months and will engage with the entire community. It is the intention of the Enniskerry Forum to have a public meeting prior to this to outline the objectives of the study, how these can be realised and to address any questions. The process will be wide ranging and inclusive.
We would like to acknowledge the support of Stephen Donnelly T.D. who has been instrumental in facilitating our engagement with the NTA.
If you have any questions in relation to this please do not hesitate to contact Enniskerry Forum by emailing us at enniskerryforum@gmail.com. As this is an important development for the community, in order to ensure full transparency and inclusiveness we will publish relevant correspondence on the Enniskerry Forum section of the Enniskerry website (www.landoverclub.com/forum) over the coming months.
