We are delighted to welcome for exhibition the Deutz D40 with which Charlie Keegan won the World Ploughing Championship in Vienna in1964. Charlie’s son Michael has been able to track down the winning tractor! Thanks to the Keegan family, the tractor has recently been restored and will be the highlight of our Vintage Car and Tractor Show Charlie Keegan was one of the first people to bring a world title of any sport back to Ireland. It was a massive event at the time as back in 1964 everybody probably had some connection to farming.
Steam Threshing
There will be at least four steam engines working on the field on the day. As the last steam threshing took place on the farm over 60 years ago the scene should evoke many memories of what was a very common sight and provide a rare opportunity for the younger generation to see steam power at work.
