Another MILEstone for Enniskerry!
We are delighted to hear that Enniskerry Forum has been awarded a PURE Mile Recognition Award for the fantastic restoration work carried out on the Bog Meadow walk and its environs.
A huge amount of effort to restore and clean up the walkways around the Bog Meadow was put in over many months by a dedicated team led by Patricia Walker and Eddie Swaine. Enniskerry Forum would like to thank them and the many others involved including Norman Cross, Gilly Carey, Noel Barry, Doug Gleasure and Brian Harvey for their tremendous work.
If you haven’t already visited the Bog Meadow walk to enjoy the fruits of their great work, then why don’t you check it out before the Summer’s over!
About “The PURE Mile”
‘The PURE Mile’ is an environmental initiative of the PURE (Protecting Uplands and Rural Environments) project which aims to foster a greater appreciation and awareness of our country roadscapes by rewarding and acknowledging local community efforts. This can be achieved through keeping a mile stretch of road (approx. 1.6 km), and the immediate environment litter/rubbish free, while simultaneously considering the preservation and careful maintenance of the flora and fauna, ditches, hedge-rows, and any other natural or man made features of the area.
