Would you like to learn about the different edible goods that can be found in woodlands? If so then come along to the Native Woodland Trust’s woodland walk in Knocksink Woods on Sunday 7^th August from 11am to approximately 1pm.

The Native Woodland Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to the protection of Ireland’s rare native and ancient woodland. The Trust achieves this by setting up woodland reserves around the country. This reserves network allows the Trust to protect existing woodland as well as plant new native woodland for the future. Part of the work we do involves running educational and fun events for our members and the public to encourage more people to use their local woodlands.

For this exciting event we will be taking a walk led by a foraging enthusiast to see what natural goods the environment provides us with in our local woodlands. We have run similar walks in autumn and spring so it’s time to see what we can find in summer.  This walk will show us why it is important that we continue to protect our woodlands as they can provide so much for us if we use them sustainably. The walk will also discuss the important topic of how to forage responsibly. The walk will be held in Knocksink Woods beside Enniskerry Village and is a beautiful place to spend the morning.

The meeting point for this event will be at 11am in the car park of Knocksink Woods. The event is free for members with a suggested donation of €4 for non-members.
