Enniskerry Traffic & Parking: Significant development
Enniskerry Forum has been interacting with the National Transport Authority (NTA) and Wicklow County Council (WCC) for some time in an effort to improve traffic and parking in Enniskerry village. We have now succeeded in getting real engagement from the NTA (with the significant assistance of Stephen Donnelly TD) and they have agreed to commence the process that will hopefully result in significant improvements.
To begin with, the NTA has asked WCC to commission a detailed survey, funded by the NTA, of the current traffic and parking situation. The aim of this is to provide the NTA with empirical support for the community’s assertion that there is a serious traffic/parking deficit in the village. If the survey substantiates the need for improvement, we hope to move quickly to the next stage of the process.
The survey will take place this weekend – from 7.00am to 7.00pm on Friday 31st May, Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June. If you are in the village this weekend we would urge you to take part.
We would like to acknowledge the assistance and co-operation of the NTA, WCC and Stephen Donnelly TD. We will provide an update as soon as possible.
