Bog Meadow Loop Walk Restored
Repair work on the Bog Meadow Loop Walk has been ongoing since April this year when the Enniskerry Forum applied successfully for the services of a TUS worker. This was important to deal with clearance and cutting of weeds and undergrowth.
Eddie Swaine has been working flat out all summer helped by Noel Barry and Brian Harvey our voluntary worker from Bray who has been a huge asset. Norman Cross has provided expertise and hard work. Volunteers have appeared from the Walking Group, but the community response has been underwhelming.
There are no funds available with the TUS worker, so we have begged and borrowed how and when necessary: to Wicklow County Council for gravel, the Gardening Club for a wheelbarrow and the Parks and Wildlife service who have been very generous supplying timber posts and decking.
It is now possible to walk around the Bog Meadow and we would appreciate people doing this to do this to keep the weeds down and to enjoy this lovely sunny sheltered walk which is a great local amenity. Dogs are welcome if cleared up after.
We are greatly appreciative of all the support we have received both from volunteers and from donors. Please support this Enniskerry Forum initiative by enjoying the lovely walk around the Bog Meadow Loop.
