Enniskerry Forum announces successful €10,000 fundraising
Enniskerry Forum has succeeded in raising €10,000 in “Leader” funding to be spent on the development of a 5 year village development plan. It is hoped that the 5 year plan will form the basis for further funding applications so that the community’s vision can be made a reality.
The good news was announced to a packed function room in the Powerscourt Arms last night. Barry Mac Devitt, who led the initiative on behalf of Enniskerry Forum, explained that work will begin shortly and will involve a community-wide consultation process so that ideas can be generated from the ground up and then professionally assessed by a team of specialist consultants. The objective is to end up with a very coherent, evidence-based plan that makes the most of Enniskerry’s natural beauty, wonderful location and Victorian heritage.
The issue of parking was also discussed at length during the meeting and Enniskerry Forum was asked on behalf of the community to revisit all possible solutions to what everybody agreed was a major problem for Enniskerry’s residents, traders and visitors.
