Local residents with private wells or private group water schemes
Researchers in UCD, UL, DIT, and TCD are working on a project on the effects of flooding on drinking groundwater quality, and human health in Ireland.
As part of this project, they have developed an online survey to gather valuable insight from Irish private well owners and users. The responses will be used to inform guidelines for policymakers and the public on what to do if flooding occurs near groundwater supplies. Any person living in Ireland that utilises a private well or is part of a private group water scheme can take part in the Survey through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FZQ7H2X (it takes less than 10 minutes)
Also as part of this project, any participant that experiences flooding near their groundwater supply in the coming months can have their well water assessed and tested FREE of charge.
