Wicklow Way Challenge LogoThe Wicklow Way Challenge is an annual event organised by the Parents Association of St Mary’s and St Gerard’s National School, Enniskerry. The 2013 Challenge takes place on Saturday 25th May.

Now in its 4th year, the Challenge is to complete a stunning 22km section of the Wicklow Way, beginning at Roundwood and finishing in the village of Enniskerry. It is a great day’s walking and team event, bringing people together and exploring the wonderful walks here on our doorstep.

The Challenge is open to all parents of the school and 5th and 6th Class pupils accompanied by a parent. Most excitingly, this year for the first time St Mary’s & St Gerard’s is asking past pupils of the school (and their children aged 12 and over) to join in the fun, as well as inviting participants from Powerscourt and St Patrick’s National Schools. It therefore promises to be a real community event.

To accommodate all fitness levels and interests, participants can choose to be part of competitive (Speedsters) or non-competitive (Ramblers) teams. There is also the option of a shorter route starting from Pier Gates.

Training walks take place every Saturday leaving from the Clock Tower at 8.00am and 1.30pm. There are different walks each week offering a variety of distance and scenery. Click here to see the schedule of walks.
