Calary’s Carol Service will take place on Friday 21st December at 7.30 and we are privileged to have 2 local musicians taking part:-
Benjamin Russell, an exciting young baritone from Kilpedder, who is currently training as a singer and has taken part in a couple of operas. He is studying as a soloist at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
Robbie Clarke from Wicklow is currently a grade 8 on the saxophone at the Royal Irish Academy.
We hope that you will be able to join us for a seasonal event that promises to be extremely enjoyable.
As an aside, you may have seen that Sophie Cashell, who has performed in Calary in the past, won the first series of Classical Star on BBC2. It was a great achievement to win this competition, which included so many young and talented musicians. We hope that she may find time to return to Calary in what will have become an even busier schedule.
We look forward to welcoming you on to the Service on 21st December after which there will be festive refreshments. However, if you cannot make it, then we would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you again in 2008.
