Brian March 14th, 2009

Schola Gregoriana Maynooth are appearing in St Patrick’s Church, Enniskerry  on Sunday 15th March 2009 at 7.00 pm,  to give a plain chant performance (Offices of St. Patrick and St. Brigid and Early Irish Polyphony).  Entrance is free (voluntary contributions accepted at the door).

Founded in 2001, the group consists of 8-10 female voices conducted by Giovanna Feeley and includes Enniskerry Gospel Choir leader Siobhan Kennedy-Perri.  The group recently released their CD ‘Saints and Scholars‘ in October 2008, recorded in St. Patrick’s Chapel, Maynooth.

Their repertoire of chants for St. Patrick includes rare and new material, edited and transcribed by Dr. Ann Buckley, of  NUI Maynooth as part of an international project researching the music of Irish saints in manuscripts from Ireland and continental Europe.

All are welcome.
