Enniskerry SFC – Results from 15/16 September 2007

Yet another successful weekend saw 8 wins and 1 draw for our teams, with just 4 games lost. Click Continue Reading for more details.

Our U8 teams remained unbeaten, recording 4 wins. The A team won 5:2 at Wicklow Rovers A, thanks to goals from Conor Bastow, AJ Porter, Ben Flanagan and Daniel Foley, who scored twice. Ardmore Rovers B were without chance against our B team, who won 7:0 after goals from Sean o’Callaghan (4), Ronan Wilson, Mark Mullen and Dominic Corrigan. The C team won in Wicklow 3:1, with James Maguire scoring a hattrick. The D team had to fight hard against St. Anthonys C, before winning 4:2. Daniel Lordon scored twice, and Ben Flanagan and Paul McGlone once.

The U9 teams lost their matches. The A team remain winless, after loosing 4:1 in Newtown. After a deserved 1:1 at halftime thanks to a goal from Jamie Dempsey, we were hopeful to score our first win of the new season, but Newtown proofed too strong. An understrength B team lost in Wicklow 5:2, despite goals by Eoin Barnes and Eric Looby, who scored his first goal of his young career.

The U10 team had a tough battle against Ardmore, before winning 4:3. Goals by Kyle Healy, Theo Cronin and a brace by Ewen Jones secured the win. Similarly the U11 A team, who beat St. Peters Bhoys 3:2. Daniel Murray scored twice, and Luke Morgan one goal. Without chance was the U13, loosing 9:0 in Coolboy.

A good weekend for the U14 teams. The B team won 5:1 in Arklow Town B – Niall McLoughlin scored two goals, Ross Taylor, Gerry Egan and Ryan Carroll one goal each. The also drew 3:3 in Newtown after goals by Ross Taylor, Ben Murphy and Christian Dunne. The A team showed their class – goals by Conor Wilson, Cian Connelly, Lee Walsh and Sean Cleary secured a 4:0 win at our neighbours in Glencormac. Despite leading 3:1 after goals from Danny Nangle (twice) and Peter Vaughan, our U15 lost 5:3 against Wicklow Town.

Finally a big congrats to Terry Maguire, the coach of our U8 C team, and her husband James, who secured the biggest win of the week, when Terry gave birth to another boy. Rumours say the youngest Maguire son has been registered with the club already. Congratulations.
