Enniskerry SFC – Ben Kirwan chosen for the FAI Emerging Talent Programme

Andreas September 19th, 2007

Enniskerry SFC’s Ben Kirwan was recently chosen for the FAI Emerging Talent Program. Click Continue Reading to read more.

The FAI are runinng an emerging talent programme with the aim to provide our emerging talents with a clear pathway by giving them the opportunity to train and play with the more talented players and coaches in their area, thus providing them with a more challenging level of training and development.

The Emerging Talent is split into two parts. The regional centres are for players aged 14-16 and are totally controlled by the FAI. Feeding the regional centres are the schoolboy league centres that will be for players predominantly aged 11 – 16. These league centres will follow a technical plan; guidelines and procedures set out by the Fai and are run by the individual leagues.

Congratulations to Ben who plays for the U14A (Paul Kavanagh’s Team) team.  This is a great achievement for Ben who has played with Enniskerry since U8s and has played on the Wicklow Team for past few years and in fact was captain of the Wicklow Team last season. He also won the Enniskerry Club Player of the Year in 2005.

We wish him the best and hopes that he enjoys this opportunity. Congratulations also to Paul who has continued to encourage him throughout his playing career with Enniskerry.
