Enniskerry gardening club was founded in 1992 and has been running successfully since then. We would usually have about fifty members, of mixed ages and gardening skills. Most come from the Enniskerry area but we do have members from further afield. The uniting factor is our love of gardenening and plants.
The gardening club meets on the first Wednesday of every month in Powerscourt Parochial Hall (beside Poppies). Our winter program (October to April) includes lectures on all aspects of gardening, slide shows or plant swaps in the hall at 8.00 p.m. In the summer months the club members visit local gardens of interest we meet at the gardens at 7.30 p.m.
The membership fee to join the club is presently €13.00 for ordinary members, €20.00 for a couple and senior citizens are €8.00.
Our next event is a Plant Swap on 4th April where each member brings a plant from their garden and swaps it for a different plant. This is a fun night and a very good way to get speciality or rare plants. We finish the evening with tea and biscuits.
We are currently enrolling for 2007 and if anybody is interested in joining just drop down on the 4th or phone 2866030 to speak with our secretary.
