Two goals by Danny Nangle and Killian Tatten were not enough for the Under 14s, as their opponents St. Patrick’s proofed too strong, winning 4:2. While the U13 B team did not play this weekend, the A team showed their strengths, beating Greystones 7:0. Ben Kirwan and Lee Walsh both scored a hattrick, with Jerssie Bursey also on the mark. The same result for the Under 11, beating Arklow thanks to hattrick by Daniel Blackbyrne, two goals from Kai Jameson, with Mikey McNeive and Niall Kelly scoring as well. The Under 12 team had an exciting match, drawing 2:2 with Coolboy. Alex O’Neill and Marc Nolan scored.
The Under 10 A team won 4:1 against Glencormac, thanks to goals from Daniel Murray (2), Lee Boorman, and Aaron O’Neill. Only one of our two Under 10 girls teams was in action this weekend, loosing 4:0 at Greystones United. After a goalless first half, the girls ran out of steam and Greystones put 4 goals in our net.
The Under 9 A team played Wicklow Rovers at home and were 2:0 up at halftime, thanks to two goals by Stuart Hallam. Unfortunately our visitors turned the match in the second half, winning 3:2. The B team won 9:1 at Arklow, please check earlier report. The C team won their second match in a row, at Ardmore Rovers. After a goalless first half, we woke up in the second half. Man of the match Daniel Whelan scored a hattrick and Ian Kirwan secured our 4:2 win.
Just one win in the Under 8 age group. The B team beat Ardmore 3:2, thanks to goals from Eoin Barnes, Max Dufficy, and Paddy Coleman, who scored his first ever goal of his young career, after only joining the team at Christmas. Bad luck for the C team, who returned from their long drive to Coolboy with a 7:0 loss in their bags. A great performance by the D team, playing away at Wicklow Town. A goal by James Kavanagh secured a 1:1 draw. While both the E and G team were idle, both the F team and the H team lost despite brave fights. The F team lost 1:2 at Ashford, with Jamie Dempsey continueing to score for the team, while the H team lost 4:1.
